- published a translation of The Strange Case of Doctor Jekyll and Mr. Hide, by Robert Louis Stevenson (ed. Nova Fronteira).
- gave lessons about Shakespeare and Elizabethan theatre, focusing on two tragedies: King Lear e Hamlet.

- published a joint-translation, with Newton Goldman, of Wild Palms, by William Faulkner (ed. Cosac & Naify).

- published his third novel called An Image of Rio (ed. Cosac & Naify). Shortlisted as Best Novel of The Year in the following prizes: Portugal Telecom, Zaffari e Bordon, and Book Fair Award (also called Jabuti Award).

2005
- completed his doctorate thesis in Literary Theory regarding a Brzilian writer of the 70’s, called: João Antônio: uma biografia literária. Was approved with distinction.
- The Mystery of The Rampant Lion in republished in a de luxe edition, illustrated and hardcover, as a ten year celebration of its original edition.
- published in Mexico a short story called “New Shelves”, in the anthology Di algo para romper este silencio (ed. Lectorum).

2006
- published, with Alípio Correia and alexandre Barbosa, a joint-translation of the novel The disenchanted, by Budd Schulberg (ed. Cosac & Naify).
- Won the prize of the Estate Bureau of Culture for his yet unpliblished young adults book The Maker of Old People. The book is now recently published (2008, ed. Cosac & Naify).

2007
- was invited as a visiting writer at The Art Omi Foundation in New York, where he stayed durying the following year.

2008
- has just finished a joint-translation, with André Telles, of The Count of Monte Cristo, by Alexandre Dumas, to be published next December (ed. Zahar).
- published the young readers book entitled The Maker of Old People, that won two Best Book for Young Readers prizes, at the National Library 2008 and at the Brazilian Young Readers and Children’s Book Foundation 2009. The book was also included at the international catalogue White Ravens.
